Bang Krathum District Office serves as the administrative center for local governance, overseeing the well-being of residents across 9 subdistricts. It provides essential public services including civil registration, ID card services, and coordination of government operations.

Beyond its administrative role, the site stands as a living historical landmark of Phitsanulok. A key highlight is the old district office building, constructed in 1946, now nearly 90 years old. This elegant structure features a traditional Thai hip-roof design, raised wooden floor, hardwood pillars, and tiled roofing—beautifully reflecting classic Thai government architecture.

Within the compound, there is also a rectangular storage building built in 1976, representing the functional expansion of the district office in later years. Both structures have been well preserved as part of the area's heritage.

A newer district office building was completed on December 23, 1991, covering approximately 80 rai. Designed with modern functionality, it ensures efficient and convenient services for the public, while the old building remains preserved alongside it.

Bang Krathum is widely known for its GI-certified dried bananas, a product of national and international recognition.
