Khao Khram Waterfall is situated within the Khao Banthat Wildlife Sanctuary in Srinagarindra District, Phatthalung. It stands as one of the most significant natural landmarks in the province, showcasing the lush biodiversity of Southern Thailand’s tropical rainforests. The waterfall originates from natural watersheds high up in the Banthat Mountain Range, cascading down over layers of limestone and granite formations. In total, there are 9 distinct tiers, each possessing its own unique charm and local name. The water is exceptionally clear, allowing visitors to see straight through to the sandy beds and rock formations below, where large schools of Soro Brook Carp (Pla Phluang) can be seen swimming freely.

The surrounding topography is densely carpeted with ancient forest trees, giant ferns, and vibrant mosses covering the river rocks, maintaining a cool and humid microclimate all year round. Due to the healthy state of the upstream watershed, Khao Khram Waterfall maintains a steady flow even during the dry season. Geologically, the area features a diverse array of rock stratifications that create a rhythmic sequence of deep pools and shallow rapids, making it an ideal location for both recreational swimming and ecological study. Most visitors frequent the first three tiers, as they offer spacious rock terraces for lounging and are easily accessible via a short walk from the parking area through a scenic canopy of trees.

How to Get There

• From Phatthalung city center, take Highway 4 (Phatthalung-Trang route) towards Srinagarindra District. At the Na Wong intersection, turn right following the signs for Khao Khram Waterfall. Drive for about 5-7 km until you reach the park entrance and parking area.
