Bang Lang Dam is a large earth-core rockfill dam built across the Pattani River. It plays a vital role in irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and water management in southern Thailand.

The reservoir stretches widely through surrounding valleys, creating a fjord-like landscape. It is beautifully combined with the lush tropical rainforest of Hala-Bala Forest, one of Thailand’s most biodiverse forest areas, rich in rare flora, wildlife, and well-preserved ecosystems.

The dam area is divided into several zones:

• Pier area: the starting point for boat trips into the natural zone

One of the main activities is taking a long-tail boat or raft tour into the Hala-Bala forest area, passing small islands and rock formations. Along the way, visitors may encounter local fishing communities, reflecting a simple lifestyle closely connected to natural resources.

How to Get There

• By Car: From Yala city, take Highway 410 (Yala–Betong route) The distance is  56 km. At kilometer marker 46, turn left toward the dam. The road is fully paved and easily accessible
