“A large, beautiful 9-tier waterfall with natural pools for swimming, surrounded by a lush, shady atmosphere and rich forest ideal for nature walks.”

Namtok Than To Forest Park is located within the Lasa National Reserved Forest, covering approximately 3,125 rai. The terrain consists of complex mountain ranges and dense tropical rainforest that remains highly fertile and intact, serving as the source of several streams in Than To District.

The waterfall originates from the high peaks of the Sankalakhiri mountain range, cascading down through layers of granite and sedimentary rock to form a total of nine tiers. Each tier ունի distinct characteristics, including steep cliff drops, wide rock terraces, and natural pools. The first and second tiers are the most accessible, featuring spacious rocky areas and safe pools suitable for swimming and relaxation.

Reaching the upper tiers requires trekking along designated nature trails, with increasing distance and elevation. Some sections of the trail can be wet and slippery due to moss-covered surfaces, requiring extra caution. Along the way, visitors can experience rich biodiversity, including tropical rainforest vegetation, ferns, mosses, and large native trees rarely found elsewhere.

The park’s ecosystem supports a variety of wildlife, such as forest birds, endemic insects, and small reptiles, making it an excellent destination for nature study, birdwatching, and eco-photography.

Historically, the area once played a role during periods of unrest in southern Thailand, serving as a strategic refuge due to its dense forest and difficult terrain. Today, it has been developed into an ecotourism destination under the management of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.

Basic facilities are available within the park, including parking areas, restrooms, rest spots, and partially developed walking trails. Camping is permitted in designated zones, though visitors should come well-prepared, as the area remains largely natural and minimally commercialized.

Overall, this destination is ideal for nature lovers seeking an authentic southern rainforest experience—whether for trekking, swimming, photography, or simply relaxing in a peaceful environment from urban life.
