“Real military weapons including anti-aircraft guns, exhibits of Communist Party members’ tools and uniforms, and insights into “politics leading the military” strategy through maps and historical displays.”
The Battle Museum serves as the core learning center for understanding the history of Phu Hin Rong Kla, showcasing both military equipment and the lived experiences of people from the Thai government forces and the Communist Party of Thailand (CPT) who once operated in this mountainous region.
Inside, the exhibition is systematically organized, covering the origins of the conflict, the establishment of the political and military school, and various key military operations. Highlights include captured heavy weapons, communication devices, and field medical equipment, reflecting the harsh realities of survival in the forest.
A major theme presented is the concept of “politics leading the military,” which played a crucial role in ending the conflict and paving the way toward peace and reconciliation. The museum delivers these lessons in a balanced and educational manner.
More than just a museum, this is an essential starting point for visitors before exploring actual historical sites within the park, such as Lan Hin Taek (Cracked Stone Field) or the Political School, allowing for a deeper and more meaningful understanding of each location.
