“Exceptional peacefulness and a highly natural environment, ideal for travelers who enjoy short forest walks and relaxing beside cool, flowing water.”

Chong Banphot Waterfall is located in a fertile upstream forest area of Palian District, Trang Province, within the Banthat Mountain Range. It is a natural attraction that offers a truly quiet and private atmosphere. Unlike large waterfalls with steep cliffs, Chong Banphot Waterfall is characterized by gently flowing water that spreads and cascades down multiple low rock levels, winding through natural stone channels surrounded by dense, lush forest. This setting keeps the area cool and refreshing throughout the year.

The waterfall is especially suitable for visitors seeking to escape crowds and relax in a pristine forest environment. Popular activities include picnicking, wading in calm sections of the stream, and exploring the surrounding watershed forest, which remains highly intact. Visitors may encounter native plant species and small wildlife along the way. Access to Chong Banphot Waterfall requires some effort, as it is less developed than major waterfalls. The route follows the same access as Ton Te Waterfall, with an additional turnoff and a short walk on foot through rubber plantations and forest trails. Because of this, the waterfall remains peaceful and largely undisturbed year-round.

How to Get There
  • Private vehicle: From Trang town, take the Trang–Phatthalung Road (Highway No. 4 or 4047) for approximately 17 kilometers. Turn right onto the Kachong–Hat Lao Road (Highway No. 4142) and continue for about 27 kilometers. At the junction leading to the Ton Tok / Ton Te Waterfall group, turn in and drive approximately 3 kilometers. You will find the entrance to Chong Banphot Waterfall, where you must continue along a smaller path and walk on foot to reach the waterfall.
  • Public transportation: Public transport access is limited due to the rural location. It is recommended to rent a car or hire a private vehicle from Trang town for convenience.

Travel Tips
  • Wear sturdy, non-slip footwear, as the trail passes through rubber plantations and natural forest paths that may be muddy or slippery.
  • As the area is a humid forest watershed, especially during the rainy season, visitors should take precautions against leeches and check their body after hiking.
  • There are no shops or facilities at the waterfall. Bring sufficient water, snacks, and garbage bags, and take all trash back with you.
  • Although water flows year-round, the most scenic period is late rainy season. Avoid visiting after heavy rainfall due to the risk of flash floods.
  • It is advisable to check route conditions and water levels with local residents or the Palian Subdistrict Administrative Organization before visiting.
