“This freshwater lake is unique because it is located in a high-altitude area and surrounded by hills and mountains. It is geologically significant and is also the location of the Royal Thai Scout Camp.”

Talay Song Hong Trang in Trang Province is a large freshwater lake-like area designated as a natural conservation site. It's located within the Khao Rang Sad-Thale Song Hong-Phayom Phok National Forest Reserve in Huai Yot District.

This large natural basin, approximately 2,500 rai (about 800 hectares), is surrounded by limestone mountains and boasts diverse plant life. Its most distinctive feature, which gives it its name, is the narrow neck of the mountains that divides the water into two sections, hence the name "Two Rooms Sea."

Ancient records (such as those in letters from Prince Narisara Nuwattiwong) describe it as an unusually high-altitude lake, unlike most lakes which are typically found in plains or lowlands. Furthermore, the water is so clear that it reflects the mountains and trees distinctly when still.

Thale Song Hong is a rich water source teeming with freshwater fish and is home to many wild animals, including ducks during the dry season. Therefore, hunting is prohibited in this area.

One hillside surrounding Thale Song Hong is the location of the Royal Commemorative Scout Camp, a national scout camp for the southern region.

In Thailand, there are two places known as "Two Rooms Sea": one in Trang province and the other in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, both of which are deep freshwater diving spots.
