“Walk through the remains of an actual forest hospital, experience the silence under the shade of large trees, and learn about the history of survival through medical wisdom from the past”

The State Hospital, also known as the Communist Party Hospital, is another significant site that vividly tells the story of past ideological conflicts. Between 1970 and 1982, this area was built as the primary medical facility to treat those injured in combat and sick members within the Phu Hin Rong Kla stronghold. The original buildings were simply constructed using wood and materials found in the forest. The system was designed to blend with the environment to prevent aerial detection, dividing the area into several sections such as examination rooms, an operating room, a recovery room, and a herbal medicine storage room, reflecting organized management amidst difficult conditions.

What is truly remarkable is the ability to treat diseases and wounds during that era. Despite the lack of modern medical tools and external medicines, this place relied on knowledge of herbal medicine combined with the adaptation of available equipment. It was managed by personnel referred to as "Forest Doctors" or medical students who fled to the forest during that time. Walking through the site today, you will see traces of wooden buildings dilapidated by time, yet you can still feel the aura of determination and sacrifice that truly happened in the past. The surrounding environment remains a lush and quiet evergreen forest, allowing visitors to pause and commemorate a chapter of Thai history.

Today, the State Hospital no longer functions to treat patients but has become a valuable historical learning source under the care of the National Park. Visiting here helps us see a more complete picture of life in the forest, especially health management that required both discipline and wisdom. Preserving the surrounding environment allows tourists to experience the authentic atmosphere while receiving lessons about conflict that remind us of the value of peace today. The old wooden houses blending with moss and large trees make this a mystical and extremely peaceful stop.

This State Hospital is therefore an important gear that completes the story of Phu Hin Rong Kla more clearly. In addition to the natural beauty that tourists receive, seeing a place that once saved many lives amidst conflict creates a feeling that is both moving and impressive. It is a journey back in time that helps us better understand human endurance and standing firm for beliefs before traveling to other important points within the park with a deeper understanding of the area's roots.
