“Pay respects to Luang Phor Jad’s incorruptible body, admire the beautiful ordination hall, and enjoy the serene riverside atmosphere of the peaceful Prachinburi River.”

Wat Bang Krabao is a third-class royal temple located in Bang Krabao Subdistrict, Ban Sang District, Prachinburi Province, on the banks of the Prachinburi River. The temple has a long history dating back to the late reign of King Rama V, with evidence suggesting its founding around 1895. It received its royal charter (Visungkamsima) in the early Rattanakosin period, making it a continuous religious and community center in the Prachinburi River basin.

The significance of Wat Bang Krabao has increased significantly due to its association with "Luang Pho Jad Khongkasaro", a renowned Buddhist monk from the Second World War. He was widely respected as a master of occult arts during the Indochina era and is considered one of the most famous "military-line" monks in Thai Buddhist history. The temple has thus become a spiritual center for his disciples and followers throughout the country.

Within the temple is an important shrine housing the remains of Luang Pho Jad in a glass coffin, a primary point of worship for visitors throughout the year. His remains are respectfully preserved and enshrined, allowing Buddhists to pay homage and remember his virtues. The temple also features an area displaying ancient artifacts. Religious artifacts and historical evidence related to the temple and revered monks of the past reflect the lifestyle of the communities along the Prachinburi River in the past.

The temple grounds are peaceful and serene, situated next to the Prachinburi River, resulting in a humid environment suitable for meditation. The temple also hosts religious activities on important community holidays such as Makha Bucha Day, Visakha Bucha Day, and annual merit-making ceremonies, attracting large numbers of devotees. As a result, Wat Bang Krabao is not only a place of religious tourism but also a cultural and historical center of Prachinburi province.
