“A long and peaceful beach shaded by rows of coconut trees, ideal for relaxing and enjoying views of the Gulf of Thailand. The name “Pharadonphap” (Brotherhood) comes from a historic event during World War II, when Thai and Japanese forces signed a peace and friendship treaty here after the battle ended.”

Hat Pharadonphap is one of Chumphon’s distinctive and historically significant beaches, combining natural beauty with an intriguing past.

The beach features a long curved shoreline with soft, clean sand and calm, swimmable waters typical of the Gulf of Thailand. One of its most striking features is the line of tall coconut trees stretching along the coastal road, creating a serene and picturesque tropical setting that perfectly represents southern Thailand’s seaside charm.

The name “Pharadonphap,” which means Brotherhood, is rooted in the events of World War II. This beach was the site where Japanese troops landed in Chumphon Province on December 8, 1941. After the brief battle between Thai and Japanese soldiers ended, both sides agreed to sign a peace and friendship treaty at this very beach — symbolizing reconciliation and cooperation.

Today, the area surrounding the beach retains a laid-back coastal atmosphere. Nearby lies the fishing village of Pak Nam Chumphon, where visitors can observe colorful fishing boats and experience the daily life of local fishermen.

Hat Pharadonphap is ideal for leisurely strolls, swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding. The beach is also dotted with small seafood restaurants and seaside cafés, where visitors can enjoy freshly caught seafood while gazing out at the sea.

How to Get There
