Tha Yang Pier Chumphon (Tha Yang Pier Chumphon) is a major marine travel hub of Chumphon province, providing passenger boat services to islands in the Gulf of Thailand, especially Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan, which are well-known tourist islands in Surat Thani province.

The pier offers several types of boats, including high-speed passenger boats (e.g., Lomprayah, Seatran) and large ferries that take longer but can carry cargo or vehicles on certain days and with certain companies.
Additionally, there is the Sleeping Boat (Night Ferry), popular among backpackers who want to travel economically, departing in the evening and arriving at Koh Tao in the early morning of the next day.

The pier area has full basic facilities, such as ticket counters, check-in counters, convenience stores, restrooms, and overnight car parking services, suitable for those who want to leave their cars while traveling to the islands.
There are also local restaurants and small cafes around the pier.

For travelers heading to Koh Tao (in Koh Phangan district, Surat Thani province),
services are available at Tha Yang Pier. The pier is about 7 km from Chumphon city.

• Private car: From Chumphon city, take the main road to Tha Yang Subdistrict, approximately 7–10 km, about 15 minutes by car, with parking available at the pier and nearby.

• Public transport: Take the Chumphon–Tha Yang songthaew from the municipal market or other city stops. Alternatively, use a motorbike taxi or taxi from the railway station or bus terminal to reach the pier directly.

• If taking the Sleeping Boat (Night Ferry), bring a blanket or jacket, as it may be cool onboard.

• Check the boat schedule with the service provider in advance, as schedules may change due to weather or seasonal conditions.

• If bringing a car to Koh Tao, contact the car ferry company beforehand to confirm service days and times.

• Arrive at the pier at least 1 hour before departure to check in and load luggage.
