“A waterfall with continuous water flow throughout the year. Although not large, the area is spacious, shady, and well-equipped with facilities.”
Kapo Waterfall Forest Park is an important nature-based attraction in Tha Sae District, Chumphon Province, covering an area of approximately 7,010 rai. It spans across the Khlong Kapo National Reserved Forest and the Thung Raya National Reserved Forest. The site is known for its lush forest environment and is home to the distinctive Kapo Waterfall.
The waterfall originates from the watershed of Khao Kapo and features a natural curved-weir-like formation. It is about 20 meters wide and only 2 meters high, making it safe and easily accessible. Its most remarkable feature is that it has water flowing all year round, whether in the dry or rainy season, making it a popular natural spot for relaxation and safe water play.
Popular activities include swimming to cool off, picnicking in the park’s pavilions, and walking along the short nature trail, which offers an opportunity to observe a variety of forest plants and sometimes spot small wildlife such as birds and butterflies.
For those wishing to stay overnight, the park offers a designated camping area with basic facilities such as restrooms, small shops, drinking water points, and open spaces for outdoor activities. This makes it an ideal place for families and outdoor enthusiasts traveling along the southern route.
Additional activities include photography, nature observation, cycling, and leisure walking around the forested park area. During the rainy season, the waterfall has its highest water volume, creating a refreshing atmosphere and the soothing sound of flowing water—perfect for nature lovers.
