“Khao Kriab Cave is renowned for its large, beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, and the grand Naga staircase leading up to the cave entrance.”
Khao Kriab Cave is a significant natural and religious tourist site in Hauang Suan District, Chumphon Province. It sits atop a tall, lush mountain within the Wat Tham Khao Kriab, an ancient temple long revered by locals. The cave’s standout feature is the large green Naga staircase extending up to the cave entrance, steep yet elegant, making it a popular photography spot for visitors.
At the cave entrance, visitors encounter a large limestone cave approximately 150 meters deep, divided into multiple chambers. Each chamber features varied stalactites and stalagmites, resembling curtains, animals, or Nagas, naturally formed and spectacularly beautiful. Some parts allow light to filter in from above, creating a serene and sacred atmosphere.
Inside, the cave also houses several Buddha statues, including a reclining Buddha, making the site both a natural tourist attraction and a peaceful meditation spot. It is ideal for those seeking spiritual relaxation amid the cool mountain air and the grandeur of the limestone cave.
