“Explore the natural wonders of curiously shaped stalactites and stalagmites inside a grand limestone chamber hidden amidst a tranquil forest.”

Pha Nasawan Cave is a natural tourist attraction located in the limestone mountain range of Ban Huai Sok. It is a large cave hidden beneath the lush greenery of the surrounding forest. The cave stands out for its well-preserved geological formations and natural beauty. Inside, the cave is divided into several spacious chambers with good air circulation, allowing visitors to explore safely and comfortably. It is an ideal destination for those who enjoy tranquility and wish to immerse themselves in the serene beauty of nature.

The cave’s unique charm lies in its stalactites and stalagmites, which remain intact and resemble works of art. Each chamber displays different shapes and patterns, including curtain-like formations, castle-like peaks, and shapes resembling various living creatures. When sunlight or artificial light illuminates these formations, they sparkle like diamonds, creating a magical atmosphere for visitors. This makes the cave a perfect location for nature and geological photography enthusiasts.

The area surrounding the cave is shaded and cool throughout the year. Located near Wat Huai Sok, a quiet meditation temple, visitors can pay respects to the Buddha statues before exploring the cave. Short nature trails around the cave allow tourists to observe the limestone forest ecosystem and rare plant species, while also offering opportunities to spot birds and small wildlife. This provides a close-up experience of nature and an educational insight into the local ecosystem.

Pha Nasawan Cave is also a historical and geological learning site. Archaeological findings, such as ancient pottery fragments and stone tools, indicate that humans once inhabited the area in prehistoric times. This makes it an ideal spot for students, researchers, and anyone interested in history and the natural sciences.

Moreover, the cave is popular with nature explorers, hikers, and photographers. Visitors can capture stunning images of the stalactites and stalagmites, the light reflecting off the rock surfaces, and the forest views glimpsed through the cave openings. Visiting Pha Nasawan Cave is not only a tourist experience but also a chance to practice mindfulness, relax, and connect deeply with the grandeur of nature.

We invite everyone to experience the spectacular underground world and uncover the hidden secrets of nature at Pha Nasawan Cave, the gem of Lan Sak District, which promises an unforgettable adventure and lasting memories for all visitors.

How to Get There

Travel Tips

Best Visiting Season:

  • Accessible year-round, but it is best to visit between 09:00 AM and 3:00 PM for the best daylight conditions and ease of travel.

Lighting Gear:

  • As parts of the cave can be dark, bring a powerful flashlight or use a local guide service (if available) for a safe and thorough exploration.

Footwear:

  • Wear sneakers or hiking boots with good traction, as the cave floor can be damp and the surfaces are often uneven.

Strict Rule:

  • Never touch or break the stalactites or stalagmites, as the oils from human skin can "kill" the rocks and stop their growth. Smoking and fires are strictly prohibited inside.

Preparation:

  • Since the temple area is very quiet, bring your own drinking water and maintain a respectful silence while passing through the monastic grounds.

Admission Fee

  • Local visitors: Free (Donations to the temple for maintenance are welcome)

  • Foreign visitors: Free

Opening Hours

  • General daily hours: 08:30 – 16:30

  • Note: It is recommended to notify the temple staff or local officials before entering for safety
