“The monastery is renowned for the sacred Buddha footprint imprinted on the cave ceiling, a significant historical relic. It serves as a peaceful meditation site where Luang Pu Mun Phurithatto and Luang Pu Lui Chantasaro once resided. The site also houses the ashes and relics of revered forest monks.”

Wat Tham Pha Bing is a public temple under the Dhammayuttika Nikaya. It provides a serene spiritual retreat for those seeking inner peace and a deep connection with nature. The monastery is nestled at the foot of a cliff, with the cave entrance facing east. The cave is relatively shallow (about 10 meters) but wide, allowing natural light to illuminate the interior.

Inside the cave, there are multiple Buddha statues and disciples, including two principal Buddha images. The footprint on the cave ceiling measures approximately 1 meter long and 0.5 meters wide. It was identified by Luang Pu Mun Phurithatto as a genuine Buddha footprint, making it a key object of reverence and historical significance.

The natural limestone formation of the cave resulted from millions of years of underground water erosion, creating a spacious main hall and narrow passages, which give a sense of grandeur and mystery. The cave is also home to hundreds of bats, which emerge at dusk, creating a memorable experience for visitors.

Wat Tham Pha Bing serves as a spiritual center for disciples and Buddhist devotees, as it was the meditation site of Luang Pu Mun and Luang Pu Lui. The Memorial Pagoda Museum houses the relics and personal belongings of Luang Pu Lui, becoming a focal point of faith for followers.

The surrounding area is rich with natural flora, including Tengkang, Padauk, and bamboo trees, offering a calm environment suitable for walking meditation, contemplation, and connecting with nature. The temple hosts regular Buddhist ceremonies such as Makha Bucha, Visakha Bucha, and Buddhist Lent Day, allowing devotees to participate in rituals and practice meditation collectively.
