“A large night market located along Nong Prajak Park, covering several intersections, offering a complete range of products including clothing, household items, and street food.”

Udon Thani Walking Street is one of the most popular night markets in Udon Thani Province. It is a gathering place for food, goods, souvenirs, and a lively atmosphere that reflects the local lifestyle at night.

This market is very large, stretching along Tesa Road and connecting to several intersections. There are a wide variety of shops including food, clothing, fashion items, home decor, and souvenirs. It is ideal for strolling, shopping, and experiencing the authentic life of local people.

In terms of food, there are many options to choose from such as spicy Isan dishes like som tam, grilled chicken, larb, and koi, as well as single dishes like noodle soup, omelet rice, grilled pork, and modern fusion food. There are also desserts, Thai sweets, grilled bread, fruit smoothies, and various drinks.

Products sold range from affordable fashion clothes, Udon Thani printed T-shirts, fabric bags, scarves, shoes, jewelry, to local products and handicrafts such as Mudmee silk, handwoven fabric, and home decorations made from natural materials.

At the activity area, there is often a stage for cultural performances, live music, B-boy dancing, youth performances, and street shows, making the market lively and full of community spirit.

This walking street is also a social gathering place for locals and tourists — families, couples, and groups of friends all come to walk, shop, and enjoy the warm and friendly evening atmosphere.

How to Get There
  • Private car: Drive towards Nong Prajak Park or Udon Thani City Pillar Shrine. On Fridays and Saturdays, Tesa Road will be closed for the market. It is recommended to find convenient parking nearby such as at schools or designated parking areas.
  • Public transportation/local vehicles: Public transport in Udon Thani city such as songthaews or taxis are available. Simply tell the driver your destination as “Nong Prajak” or “City Pillar Shrine,” which are both close to the market area.

Travel Tips
  • As it is a large market located in the city, traffic can be heavy on Friday and Saturday evenings. It is advisable to allow extra travel time and find parking in advance.
  • Arriving early, around 5:00–6:00 PM, helps avoid large crowds later at night and gives you enough time to explore all the shops.
  • It is recommended to visit the City Pillar Shrine before walking through the market, and don’t forget to take photos with the floating rubber duck — the symbol of Nong Prajak Park.
  • Carry some cash since most shops do not accept credit cards, and wear comfortable clothing as the market covers a long walking distance.

Entrance Fee

  • No entrance fee.

Opening Hours

  • Open only on Friday and Saturday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM (approximately).
