“Distinct with a hands-on insect zone (Hands-on Experience), a free-flying butterfly dome, and a collection of rare insects from around the world. Suitable for close and safe nature learning.”

Siam Insect Zoo (Siam Insect Zoo) is an entomology learning center founded by academic experts specializing in insects, with the main concept of making the “world of insects” a real experience that can be touched, not just viewing specimens in display cases, but learning through real living creatures, real ecosystems, and real insect behavior in a natural-like environment.

Inside the area is designed as a continuous learning zone (Learning Journey) that is connected from basic understanding of insects to real hands-on experiences. It starts with the Insect Museum, which collects many mounted insect specimens and rare samples such as various butterfly species, large rhinoceros beetles, uniquely colored beetles, and rare insects from Asia, Africa, and South America. They are classified according to taxonomy, allowing visitors to understand biodiversity in a systematic way.

Next is the Butterfly Dome, an indoor tropical garden area that controls humidity and temperature suitable for butterfly survival. Inside the dome, host plants for butterflies are specially planted, such as nectar plants and caterpillar food plants, allowing visitors to see a “complete life cycle” from eggs, caterpillars, pupae, to adult butterflies in the same area. Many butterfly species fly freely and may land on visitors naturally.

The main highlight is the Live Insect Zone, which is the heart of this place. It displays real living insects and arthropods with close supervision from expert staff who explain behaviors closely. Visitors can learn through safe hands-on interaction, such as holding leaf insects that camouflage perfectly, observing rhinoceros beetles, watching tarantulas in a simulated ecosystem, African giant millipedes that play a role in decomposing organic matter, and scorpions, which are ancient insects with interesting evolution.

In addition, there are exhibits explaining the role of insects in ecosystems, such as pollination, decomposition of organic matter, and maintaining food chain balance, including conservation exhibitions about local and rare insects that are decreasing in nature.

There is also an important section designed as a family and children learning center, with interactive learning activities such as close observation of insect behavior, hands-on activities, and explanations by experts, helping children understand nature through real experience, strengthening courage, scientific understanding, and practical learning.

With all these elements, Siam Insect Zoo is not only a tourist attraction but also a natural learning center that perfectly combines science, conservation, and real experience, suitable for general tourists, families, and those interested in environment and biology in depth.
