“A stunning recreation of Thai cinema history featuring vintage architecture, global film evolution exhibits, and classic photography spots essential for every art and movie lover.”

Thai Film Museum is located within the grounds of the Thai Film Archive (Public Organization) in Salaya, Nakhon Pathom Province. This area serves as a crucial center for the preservation and study of Thai film history. Designed as both an educational museum and a cultural tourist attraction, the museum's core concept is to transport visitors back in time to experience the "birth of film" and the evolution of both Thai and international cinema in a tangible way.

The museum comprises several key sections, including the Thai Film Museum, the Film Library, and the Sri Salaya Cinema, a small theater used for screening both classic and contemporary films. These reflect the institution's role in systematically preserving films, still images, filming equipment, and important documents related to Thai film history.

The "Maya City" is the most prominent outdoor area of the project. Built as a replica of a historical set and architecture inspired by film history and the early days of cinema, it features recreated old European buildings, a vintage cinema, and cityscapes reflecting the atmosphere of early cinema. It also includes elements referencing the early history of film screening in Thailand, helping visitors understand the development of the film medium in a concrete way. This area is also used as a venue for special events, outdoor exhibitions, and film festivals from time to time.

One of the highlights of this site is its concept "Educational and entertaining," or learning combined with entertainment, allows visitors to tour recreated film sets, take photos, and learn about the history of cinema. Simultaneously, they can explore a permanent exhibition on the history of Thai cinema, from the black-and-white film era to the digital age, showcasing authentic equipment such as vintage film cameras, original film negatives, posters, and behind-the-scenes film production documents.

This space also plays a significant role as a venue for cultural activities such as outdoor film screenings, seminars, and film festivals, attracting students, researchers, and the general public. The overall atmosphere of the Film Archive is quiet, serene, and more conducive to learning than typical commercial tourism.

General admission to the museum and the Maya City areas is free, but some special events or film screenings at the Sri Salaya Theatre may have a fee depending on the daily program.
