“Koh Kalok is one of the snorkeling spots with the most beautiful and pristine coral reefs in Chumphon Sea, especially the brain coral and fields of sea anemones full of colors.”

Koh Kalok is one of the important islands of the Ngaam Archipelago, Chumphon Province, and is acclaimed as a “legendary snorkeling spot” of the Gulf of Thailand. With the richness of coral reefs and diverse marine life, the island has no beaches but stands out with rock formations and high cliffs emerging from the water, which from a distance resemble a human skull, giving the island its name, “Koh Kalok.”

Beneath the water around the island is another world full of life, featuring brain coral (Brain Coral), Porites coral, and brightly colored sea anemones covering wide areas, along with schools of fish such as yellowtail fish, giant trevally, parrotfish, butterflyfish, and occasionally large spadefish swimming around the island.

In addition, the shallow waters around the island are ideal for snorkeling for both beginners and experienced divers, but currents can be strong at times, so swimming should be done under the supervision of a skilled instructor or tour guide. Usually, ropes are provided at snorkeling points for safety.

Koh Kalok is often included in the popular “4-Island Snorkeling Tour” of Chumphon, which includes Ko Ngaam Noi, Ko Ngaam Yai, Ko Thalu, and Koh Kalok. Visitors can take a speedboat or long-tail boat from Hat Sai Ree or Pak Nam Chumphon, with a travel time of 20–30 minutes.

Although the island has no structures or land resting points, its underwater natural beauty and pristine environment make Koh Kalok a diver’s paradise, perfect for experiencing the marine world up close.
