“ Spectacular wind farm views paired with vibrant seasonal flower fields, featuring Bali and Hmong-style photo corners amid refreshing mountain mist year-round. ”
Rai Strawberry GB Khao Kho is a famous agricultural tourism destination and viewpoint located in the Khao Kho Wind Turbine area. Situated on a high ridge in Thung Samo Subdistrict, it enjoys cool temperatures almost year-round. The mountainous terrain makes the area ideal for cultivating temperate crops, seasonal flowers, and strawberries. Especially during the late rainy season and early winter, the mornings are chilly and mist blankets the hills, creating a distinctive atmosphere that has made it a popular landmark in Khao Kho.
A key highlight of GB Farm is its location near the Khao Kho Wind Turbine field, offering clear views of the large white wind turbines lined up on the hillside. The vibrant flower fields against the backdrop of the wide sky and the turbines have become incredibly popular photo spots on social media, particularly during the morning mist drifting over the hills and the golden sunlight illuminating the flower beds and grass in the evening, creating a soft and romantic ambiance.
The farm cultivates a variety of seasonal temperate flowers such as cosmos, marigolds, verbena, and other colorful blossoms suited to Khao Kho's cool climate. The flower beds are arranged in terraced rows along the mountain slope, creating a beautiful gradient of colors when viewed from above. Tourists can walk along wooden bridges, pathways, and viewpoints provided by the farm to take photos and enjoy the view up close without disturbing the cultivation area. Many spots also have photo props such as wooden swings, Balinese-style bird's nests, bamboo arches, and decorations in the style of the Hmong tribe, reflecting the unique identity of the local community in the Khao Kho area.
Although this place is known as a "strawberry farm," strawberry production is peak during the winter months, approximately November to February, when the cool weather is ideal for the growth of temperate fruits. Tourists may even have the opportunity to visit the strawberry fields and purchase fresh strawberries directly from the farm. However, the yield depends on the weather and the planting cycle each year. Besides strawberries, the area also has shops selling drinks, souvenirs, and local agricultural products such as fruit juices, smoothies, snacks, and processed products from temperate fruits, completing the mountain farm tourism experience.
Another charm of GB Farm is its expansive surroundings, offering stunning views of the Khao Kho mountain range stretching as far as the eye can see. On clear days, tourists will see long stretches of green mountains against a deep blue sky. During the rainy and winter seasons, this area is often covered in morning mist, making it resemble a mountain resort in northern Thailand. Temperatures towards the end of the year can drop significantly, resulting in noticeably cool weather, earning Khao Kho the nickname "Thailand's Switzerland," and GB Strawberry Farm is one place where you can experience this atmosphere up close.
Besides its natural beauty, the area around the wind turbines is also a major tourist attraction conveniently connected to other Khao Kho locations, such as Wat Phra That Pha Sorn Kaew, Khao Kho viewpoints, Khao Kho Royal Palace, and numerous mountain cafes. Many tourists prefer to visit GB Strawberry Farm in conjunction with a day trip to see the Khao Kho scenery or stay overnight to witness the morning mist. The blend of flower fields, cool breezes, mountains, and large wind turbines makes GB Strawberry Farm in Khao Kho a popular destination for photographers, couples, families, and nature lovers seeking to fully experience the charm of Khao Kho.
