“A large outdoor maze-style attraction in Khao Yai, built from trimmed jasmine trees into a high wall, offers visitors fun and challenging ways to find their way out. Perfect for group and family activities.”
Pete Maze is one of the most creative and well-known activity-based attractions in Khao Yai, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The concept was born from the idea of recreating the maze game often seen in various media into a real-world experience that visitors can walk through. Spanning approximately 5 rai, the maze is nestled amidst the natural surroundings of the forest, allowing visitors to experience the fresh air and stunning scenery of Khao Yai simultaneously.
The inspiration for mazes dates back to ancient times, such as Greek legends that describe mazes built as traps for enemies, leaving even the architects unable to find their way out. Pete Maze has adapted this classic concept into a fun and safe activity for all ages, using frangipani trees as the main element in the maze walls.
The selection of frangipani trees was meticulously planned. The trees are meticulously planted and maintained, pruned into a dense, even, green wall along the entire path. The three walls are as high as a person's head (approximately 2 meters). This height_ is crucial for the challenge, as it blocks the surrounding view. This prevents players from seeing the entire maze while inside, with only gaps in the path for them to decide whether to turn left or right. The uniformity of the frangipani trees along the path adds to the confusion, making it difficult to know where they are and making it easy to loop back.
The player's primary goal is to find the exit, akin to conquering the game of life. Visitors can explore freely, with no time limit. This allows players to either rush to save time or take a leisurely stroll to soak in the atmosphere and take photos. This makes Pitch the Maze ideal for both competitive adventurers and leisure travelers.
In addition to the complex maze structure, the area is dotted with landmarks and scenic photo spots, motivating players to explore and providing a visual break. Examples include small fountains, cutely carved animal sculptures, colorful sculptures like stacked cups, and even a high bridge that allows players to climb up to view the maze from a high angle. This allows players to plan their next route or use it as a resting point, elevated above the tree walls. These photo spots help keep lost time from becoming boring. And it turns into a fun exploration.
Pete's maze is not just a maze for games but also a beautiful garden with a pleasant atmosphere that encourages family and group activities. A visit here is a great way to exercise, test your wits, and practice decision-making. It's also an opportunity to create wonderful memories amidst Khao Yai's immaculately maintained nature.
