Betong Customs House is one of the most significant border checkpoints in southern Thailand and is widely known as the “Gateway to the Southernmost Point of Siam.” It plays a vital role in tourism, trade, and international connectivity.

Located at the end of Highway 410, it connects directly to Pengkalan Hulu Border Checkpoint, a key crossing point between Thailand and Malaysia.

The newly developed customs building features a modern and elegant design, incorporating local cultural elements. Its spacious layout efficiently accommodates both travelers and cargo transportation.

The surrounding area is beautifully landscaped, with scenic mountain views and the lush forest of Hala-Bala Forest, making it one of the most picturesque border checkpoints in Thailand.

This checkpoint serves as a major hub for cross-border trade, especially agricultural products such as rubber and fruits. It is also part of the IMT-GT economic cooperation framework (Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle).

A key highlight is the nearby Southernmost Point of Siam Sign, a symbolic landmark marking the southernmost point of Thailand. Nearby attractions include:

• By Car: From Betong town, take Sukayang Road (Highway 410) heading south toward the Thailand–Malaysia border. The distance is approximately 7–10 km.

• Prepare your passport or Border Pass if you plan to cross into Malaysia

• Visit in the early morning for pleasant weather and a chance to see light mist over the mountains around Betong Customs House

• If driving across the border, make sure to have all required vehicle documents and international insurance ready
