“Modern new terminal accommodating millions of passengers annually. Conveniently located near town and Ao Nang, serving as the primary gateway to Andaman’s world-renowned beaches and islands.”

Krabi International Airport , operated by the Department of Airports (DOA), serves as a critical strategic hub for the economy and tourism of the Southern Andaman region. It consistently ranks as one of the busiest airports under the DOA's jurisdiction. Recently, the airport underwent a major capacity expansion project, which included the construction of Terminal 3 and the renovation of Terminals 1 and 2 to create a seamless, interconnected Multi-Terminal complex. This expansion significantly increased the total floor area to over 68,000 square meters, effectively doubling the passenger handling capacity from 4 million to 8 million travelers annually. This development was specifically designed to accommodate the rising number of direct long-haul flights from Europe, China, and the Middle East.

The aviation infrastructure has been upgraded to meet stringent international safety standards. The airport features a 3,000-meter long and 45-meter wide runway, with 7.5-meter shoulders on each side, capable of supporting wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 777 and Airbus A330. Furthermore, the aircraft apron has been expanded to accommodate up to 40 aircraft simultaneously. Inside the terminals, the design prioritizes a sense of openness and efficient passenger flow, utilizing advanced baggage handling systems and modern check-in technologies. The facility also includes an expanded parking structure with a capacity for over 2,000 vehicles, catering to the needs of local and regional travelers.

Beyond its role as a transit point, Krabi International Airport acts as the central gateway for dispersing tourists to world-renowned natural attractions and archipelagos, including the Phi Phi Islands, Koh Lanta, Railay Bay, and the Emerald Pool. Its strategic location allows for quick transfers to Krabi Town and the Ao Nang beach area. The terminal interiors house extensive commercial zones featuring international restaurant chains, cafes, duty-free shopping, and standardized tourist information and transportation desks. These comprehensive facilities ensure that Krabi International Airport remains one of the most prepared and prominent gateways to Southern Thailand.
