“Admire the elegant white Lanna-style ordination hall surrounded by lush tea forests, breathe fresh mountain air at over 1,000 meters above sea level, and experience the peaceful spiritual life of a traditional hill community.”
Wat Pa Miang is the main temple of Ban Pa Miang, a historic village nestled deep within the mountains of Mueang Pan, Lampang. The temple sits on gently sloping hillsides, allowing visitors to enjoy scenic views of the surrounding village and forest landscape.
Beauty of Pure Faith
Although relatively small, the temple is notable for its elegant white ordination hall and vihara, decorated with delicate stucco patterns and reflective glass ornaments. The bright white architecture contrasts beautifully with the deep green tea forests and mountains. Inside, a serene Mara-Vijaya Buddha image is enshrined, offering a peaceful atmosphere for worship and meditation.
Heart of the Mountain Community
Wat Pa Miang serves as the spiritual center of the local community, whose lifestyle has long been connected with fermented tea leaves (Miang) and mountain tea cultivation. The scenery becomes particularly charming during February to March, when white Siew flowers bloom across the hillsides, creating a picturesque setting around the temple and village.
