“A historic cliff in Ban Pa Miang community, which was once a point for exchanging “Miang” with goods over 150 years ago. Today, it is a viewpoint and a place to learn about the community's way of life amidst nature.”

Pha Nut Phop, Ban Pa Miang is a small spot hidden in the nature of Ban Pa Miang, but it holds profound historical and spiritual significance for the community. This place reflects the traditional way of life of the villagers who have lived in harmony with the forest and mountains for a long time, telling stories of trade, waiting, and the connection of people from over 100 years ago.

Market on the Cliff:

Back about 150 years ago, when transportation was difficult, this cliff was a strategic point where villagers would bring "Miang" (fermented wild tea leaves) to wait for exchange with rice, dried food, and essential goods that merchants from other areas would carry up to deliver to the mountain community.

Meaning Beyond the Name:

In addition to being a trading post, Pha Nut Phop was also a place where villagers would wait to welcome relatives or children who had traveled to other areas for errands. When they returned to the village, this place became a meeting point filled with the hope and warmth of the family.

Community Learning Space:

Today, Pha Nut Phop has been developed into one of the check-in points on the eco-tourism route around the village. Tourists can walk and soak up the atmosphere of the mountains, see the Miang trees planted along the slopes, and read historical signs that tell the story of the Ban Pa Miang community that has been established here for centuries.

How to Get There
  • By Foot: This is the most recommended way. After parking at Wat Pa Miang or a homestay, follow the tourist routes around the village with clear signs.

  • By Private Car: Drive from Chae Son National Park for about 14 km. The road is steep and winding. When you arrive at Ban Pa Miang, you can easily walk to Pha Nut Phop.

Travel Tips
  • You should wear sneakers or shoes that are snug, as the paths in the village are steep and may be damp.

  • We recommend visiting in conjunction with Saphan Rak Dok Sieo (Bauhinia Bridge) and Wat Pa Miang, which are on the same route.

  • Take some time to quietly experience the atmosphere and imagine the meetings of people in the past.

  • The air is cool in the morning, making it a good time to walk around the village.

  • Respect the community's way of life and help keep the area clean.
