“A giant riverside statue of Luang Pho Pan, peaceful and shady surroundings, and a popular place to pray for kindness, good fortune, and protection.”

Wat Pan Prasittaram is an ancient temple located in Khlong Dan Subdistrict, Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan Province. The temple has long been closely connected to the riverside and fishing communities along the Gulf of Thailand. In the past, Khlong Dan was an important waterfront trading community dating back to the early Rattanakosin period, making this temple a center for religion, education, and community gatherings.

The temple’s most significant connection is with Phra Kru Wiwat Sammachan, better known as “Luang Pho Pan,” the former abbot of formerly Wat Bang Hia. He was a highly respected monk famous for his sacred knowledge, compassion, charm, and protective blessings. His carved tiger fang amulets are considered legendary Thai talismans, attracting devotees from many provinces who come to pray for success in business, work, and safe travel.

Inside the temple grounds stands a large and striking statue of Luang Pho Pan beside the canal, visible from afar. The atmosphere is peaceful, shaded, and filled with the charm of Khlong Dan’s traditional riverside lifestyle. Visitors often come to apply gold leaf, make merit, offer alms, and pray for blessings. The surrounding area also provides relaxing riverside views where travelers can observe the daily life of local people who still rely on the waterways.

Another attraction of the temple is its location near local seafood markets and community shops in Khlong Dan. Visitors commonly stop to buy local products such as Bang Bo dried snakehead fish, shrimp paste, and processed seafood. A visit to Wat Pan Prasittaram is therefore not only a spiritual journey, but also an opportunity to experience the local culture and coastal lifestyle of Samut Prakan.
