King Bhumibol 84th Birthday Anniversary Public Park, commonly known by locals as “Sob Tui Park,” is one of the most important recreational green spaces in Lampang city. Located near Lampang Railway Station, the park covers more than 27 rai and serves as a popular destination for relaxation, exercise, and outdoor activities for both residents and visitors.

The park was developed on land owned by the State Railway of Thailand by Lampang Municipality to honor His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (Rama IX) on the auspicious occasion of his 84th Birthday Anniversary. Today, it stands as a meaningful public space that reflects both community life and respect for the beloved monarch.

Designed with modern urban park standards, the park features a high-quality jogging track with shock-absorbing rubber surface, helping reduce joint impact and making it ideal for runners and fitness enthusiasts. A separate cycling lane is also provided to ensure safety for cyclists and pedestrians.

In addition, the park includes a large children’s playground, an open activity plaza for aerobics or group exercises, and Thai-style pavilions where visitors can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings beneath large shady trees.

One of the park’s most attractive highlights is the dancing fountain plaza, which usually operates in the evening. The colorful water display creates a lively and refreshing atmosphere, making sunset hours the most vibrant time of the day. Locals gather here to jog, walk, socialize, and spend quality time with family.

Situated in the historic Sob Tui district, one of Lampang’s traditional commercial areas and close to the railway station, the park functions as a refreshing urban oasis that beautifully blends traditional community life with modern healthy living.

• By Car: Drive toward the Sob Tui area near Lampang Railway Station. The park is located at the corner of Prasan Maitri Road, with parking areas available around the park.

• By Local Songthaew: Yellow city songthaews (shared taxis) circle the city and can drop passengers directly in front of the park.

• By Horse Carriage: Visitors can also take Lampang’s iconic horse carriage from the city center to the park area.

• The best visiting time is 16:30 – 18:30, when the weather is cooler and perfect for outdoor activities.

• The dancing fountain show usually operates in the evening, creating a lively atmosphere.

• Ideal for jogging, cycling, walking, or family relaxation.
