“Enjoy the view of the towering giant wind turbines along the beach and savor fresh seafood at friendly prices from local seaside wooden huts.”
Chan Chaeng Beach is a hidden retreat in Hua Sai District, offering a tranquil atmosphere that contrasts with more popular beaches such as Khanom or Sichon. The beach retains a natural charm and reflects the authentic lifestyle of the local fishing community.
The most distinctive feature of Chan Chaeng Beach is the line of large wind turbines used for electricity generation, part of the Pak Phanang Basin renewable energy project. The striking image of white turbines set against the blue sky and sea creates a unique coastal landscape rarely found elsewhere, making it a popular photo spot for visitors.
The beach features soft white sand stretching along the shoreline, with a quiet, almost private-beach feel. The sea is generally clear, with gentle waves during normal seasons, making it ideal for leisurely walks, picnics, or simply relaxing under the shade of pine and coconut trees while listening to the sound of the waves.
For food lovers, Chan Chaeng Beach is well known for its local seafood restaurants in simple beachfront huts, serving freshly caught seafood straight from local fishing boats. Popular dishes include steamed blue crabs, spicy papaya salad with blue crab, sour curry with seabass, and seasonal seafood, all offered at reasonable and welcoming prices.
In the late afternoon, the beach transforms into a beautiful sunset viewing spot. The warm orange light reflecting off the sea and wind turbine blades creates a serene and memorable scene. If you are looking for a quiet seaside destination where you can relax, enjoy good food, and stay within budget, Chan Chaeng Beach is a perfectly balanced choice.
