“Landmark Pig Island with white sandy beach, clear turquoise water like glass, along with kayaks, snorkeling, and chic photo spots, surrounded by a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.”

Koh Madsum (Pig Island), also known as “Pig Island”, is a small island south of Koh Samui, just a 15–25 minute ride from the shore of Samui. It is perfect for a One Day Trip for those looking for both a chill and unique experience.

The island is long and slender in the east-west direction, allowing you to walk from one side to the other. The island is surrounded by lush green trees along both coastlines, creating a shady and private atmosphere. The beach is distinguished by its fine white sand, clear turquoise water, and coral reefs in some areas, perfect for swimming and snorkeling to see schools of fish.

The main highlight here is the adorable herd of pigs that live on the beach, who are familiar with tourists. You can take photos and feed them up close (often with watermelon), becoming the iconic image that has made this island famous around the world.

There are a variety of activities on the island, including playing with the pigs, taking photos on the beach, kayaking along the coastline, snorkeling off the beach, or relaxing at the Tropical style restaurants and bars available on the island, sipping cool drinks amidst the views of the Gulf of Thailand. And in the evening, you can also watch the beautiful sunset.

Despite being a popular tourist destination, Koh Madsum still has moments of peace and privacy due to its limited space and well-preserved nature. It is perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle and experience the simplicity and charm of nature in a different corner of Samui.
