“A small natural hot spring with an average temperature of around 45°C. A key highlight is that when visitors make noise or clap, bubbles rise from the water surface, creating a striking and fascinating natural phenomenon.”

Pong Krathing Hot Spring is located within Chaloem Phrakiat Thai Prachan National Park in Ban Kha District, Ratchaburi Province. It lies in a watershed forest area along the Tenasserim mountain range, known for its high ecological richness. The terrain is mountainous and complex, covered with dry evergreen forest and tropical rainforest, creating a relatively intact and peaceful ecosystem that is ideal for nature-based tourism and relaxation. The hot spring is formed through geothermal processes, where rainwater seeps underground, flows through deep rock layers, and is heated by subsurface rocks before being forced back to the surface through rock fissures. This results in a natural hot spring with an average temperature of around 40–45°C. A distinctive feature of the site is the continuous bubbling beneath the water surface, which can intensify when there is vibration or disturbance, such as clapping or movement near the pool. This phenomenon is caused by underground gas pressure.

The surrounding area is densely forested with high humidity throughout the year, and the climate is cooler and more refreshing compared to urban areas. Natural sounds from birds and insects enhance the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The site is systematically managed by the national park authority, preserving its natural condition while providing basic infrastructure such as stone and wooden walkways, rest pavilions, and viewpoints to support visitors with minimal environmental impact. The area is divided into several service zones, including outdoor foot-soaking pools designed to blend with nature for light relaxation, communal bathing pools for general visitors, and private bathing rooms for those seeking more privacy and tranquility.

The mineral water contains natural elements such as sulfur and dissolved minerals, which are believed to help stimulate blood circulation, relieve muscle pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation. However, soaking should be limited to a safe duration, generally no more than 15–20 minutes per session. The surrounding ecosystem is also home to various small wildlife species, including forest birds, butterflies, and insects, as well as diverse native plant species that remain well preserved. This allows visitors to experience rich biodiversity along nearby nature trails.Visitors typically enjoy mineral soaking for health benefits, walking through nature trails, and taking landscape photographs. The best times to visit are in the early morning and late afternoon when the weather is cool and the natural lighting is most beautiful, making it ideal for relaxation and capturing memorable scenery.
