Regarding the marine ecosystem, Rantee Beach stands out as one of the premier shore-based snorkeling locations on the island. The house reef begins just a short distance from the shoreline, especially accessible during mid-to-low tide without the need for a boat excursion. Divers and snorkelers can observe healthy colonies of mound corals (Porites) and recovering staghorn corals (Acropora). The area is a sanctuary for diverse marine life, including Ocellaris clownfish, vibrant parrotfish, and occasionally, juvenile Blacktip Reef Sharks that frequent the shallow waters when the tide is calm. The hinterland consists of eco-conscious wooden bungalows designed to minimize visual impact on the landscape, reflecting a commitment to maintaining the balance between tourism and the environmental standards of the National Park.

• By Hiking: Adventurous travelers can hike from the Phi Phi Viewpoint. The trail takes approximately 30-40 minutes through the jungle and can be quite steep.

• Arrive early in the morning to witness one of the most stunning sunrises over the eastern horizon.

• Bring your own snorkeling gear as the vibrant house reef is easily accessible directly from the shore.

• Carry sufficient cash because there are no ATMs on the beach and card terminal signals can be unstable.

• Wear sturdy sneakers if hiking from the viewpoint as the jungle trail is steep and can be slippery.
