“The main gateway to Koh Mook where travelers will find a lively fishing community, local transport services, and motorbike rentals to explore various parts of the island.”
Koh Mook Pier is the island’s central transportation hub and the first place visitors experience the local charm of the island’s fishing community. Located on the eastern side of Koh Mook near the main village area, the surroundings of the pier are active throughout the day, with local fishing boats moving in and out and passenger boats arriving from the Trang mainland.
Upon arrival, travelers will find small shops, local eateries, and a modest village market—an excellent opportunity to sample fresh seafood or observe the daily life of the islanders. The pier area also serves as the main gathering point for transportation around the island, including three–wheeler sidecars (local tuk-tuks), motorbike taxis, and motorbike rental shops, making it easy to continue the journey to popular beaches and resorts such as Farang Beach or Pearl Beach.
Since this pier is located on the island, it is often used as a meeting point for snorkeling tours, boat excursions, or trips to the Emerald Cave, one of the highlights of Koh Mook. The atmosphere at the pier changes throughout the day: in the morning, fishermen return with their fresh catch, while in the late afternoon, tourists arrive back from island-hopping trips. This creates a unique blend of simplicity, liveliness, and authenticity that reflects the rhythm of daily life on a small island.
