“Crystal-clear, calm sea water, beautifully shaped granite boulders, and immediate beachfront snorkeling in a serene and private atmosphere.”
Thong Takian Bay (Silver Beach) is a small bay on the east coast of Koh Samui, nestled amidst hills and surrounding resorts. Despite being on the main tourist route, it hides a fascinating tranquility. This beach is approximately 200–250 meters long and characterized by a crescent-shaped bay enclosed by natural rock formations.
The charm here lies in the crystal-clear, turquoise-blue sea water, allowing you to clearly see the sandy bottom and schools of fish from the shore. Combined with the fine, soft, off-white sand and large granite boulders arranged naturally, it creates a distinctive and unique landscape for this bay.
With relatively calm and shallow water conditions, Thong Takian Bay is ideal for relaxing and engaging in light water activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking, especially around the rock formations on both sides of the bay, which are areas rich in marine fish. However, there are patches of scattered rocks underwater, some of which may be sharp or covered in barnacles, so caution should be exercised when swimming.
Although the beach entrance is through resort property, it remains open to the public. You can walk through the entrance along the hotel's boundary to reach the beach. There are also food and beverage services from beachfront restaurants, adding to the convenience for tourists.
As soon as you step onto the beach, you will experience a peaceful atmosphere, beautiful sea views, and unspoiled nature. Thong Takian Bay is therefore a suitable destination for those who want to relax in privacy and truly immerse themselves in the beauty of the Samui sea.
