“A unique sandstone pavement with naturally formed rounded knobs, millions of years in the making, situated on a 1,262-meter high cliff offering panoramic views, sea of mist, and historically served as a field hospital.”

Lan Hin Pum, Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, is one of the key landmarks of Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park. It features a wide stone courtyard at the edge of a cliff filled with numerous rounded stone knobs arranged naturally, amid cool weather and beautiful mountain scenery, making it a popular destination for tourists visiting Phitsanulok.

The Lan Hin Pum phenomenon is a result of geological processes of sandstone in the Phu Phan Formation, which has been eroded by wind, water, and temperature changes continuously for millions of years, causing some of the rock material to erode, leaving behind rounded knobs of similar sizes, appearing unique and distinctive.

The atmosphere of Lan Hin Pum has different charms at different times, especially in the morning when you can see a sea of mist covering the valleys, and in the evening when the sunlight hits the surface of the rocks, creating beautiful golden light. There are also mosses, lichens, and small wildflowers that grow on the stone surface, adding color to the landscape.

In the past, Lan Hin Pum also played an important role during political conflicts, having been used as a recuperation area and field hospital for the Communist Party of Thailand, due to its open space, good ventilation, and suitable environment for caring for the injured.

Today, Lan Hin Pum is not only a beautiful natural attraction but also a place that reflects both historical stories and the wonders of nature, suitable for photographers, hikers, and those who want to experience the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains.
