“Zen Beach is known for its evening gatherings of yoga enthusiasts and artists, with panoramic sunset views. Featuring Sunset Jam Sessions and calm, clear, shallow waters perfect for relaxation.”
Zen Beach is a beach on the west coast of Koh Phangan, approximately 1–1.5 kilometers long, located in the Srithanu area between Chao Phao Beach (north) and Sri Thanu Bay (south). It is known for its fine white sand and turquoise waters that are relatively shallow and calm. Especially during low tide, a long sandbar is revealed, perfect for strolling and enjoying panoramic sea views.
This area is part of the Srithanu Community, an international hub for yoga, meditation, and holistic living. Therefore, most tourists are focused on health, spiritual retreats, and mindful living.
In the morning, the beach is peaceful, ideal for beach yoga, meditation, or Pranayama breathing exercises, including wellness activities from nearby yoga centers. While in the evening, which is the highlight, the atmosphere transforms into a gathering place for people from all over the world.
A prominent activity is the “Sunset Jam Session”, where independent musicians bring instruments such as Handpan, Djembe, Didgeridoo, and guitar to play together, creating rhythms that resonate with the sunset, resulting in an atmosphere that is both relaxing and full of positive energy.
In terms of scenery, Zen Beach is considered one of the most beautiful sunset viewpoints on Koh Phangan, as it faces directly west without obstructions. Especially during the dry season (Dec–Apr), you can clearly see the colors of the sky changing in gradation.
The area around the beach also has vegan cafes, plant-based restaurants, juice bars, budget bungalows, and famous yoga centers, making it both a place to relax and a comprehensive health learning center.
Overall, Zen Beach is not just a typical beach but an area of experience that combines nature, music, art, and spirituality, perfect for those who want to rest their minds and experience another side of Koh Phangan.
