“Natural Path through the Bamboo Forest along a river flowing to a hotspring village”
The Bamboo Forest Path and Shuzenji Walkway are located on the walkway in front of Izu Shuzenji Temple and Dokko no Yu. It is a walkway along the Katsura River that runs through Shuzenji Hot Spring Town that has been developed for over three years since 1994. It is a small path with a nice atmosphere of the bamboo forest. The short distance is about 50 meters. There is a large round bamboo bench in the center of the bamboo grove for sitting and relaxing. You can feel the wind blowing through the bamboo grove. In the autumn foliage season, you can see the red and orange leaves changing color against the green of the bamboo beautifully.
After the sun goes down, it is illuminated. You can have a nice night walk. It's a great vista. It is lit from sunset to 23:00. There is also a free exhibition called "Shuzenji Corridor" on the tiny route that shows images of Shuzenji's four seasons. There are various parking lots nearby (about 500 yen). There are restaurants and souvenir shops around where you may eat and sip tea.
