“A charming bronze replica of New York’s Statue of Liberty set against the Tokyo skyline, Rainbow Bridge, and iconic Odaiba landmarks.”
The Odaiba Statue of Liberty is an 11–12 meter tall bronze replica of the famous New York original, standing roughly 1/7th its size. It symbolizes the enduring friendship between Japan and France. Originally displayed temporarily in 1998 to commemorate the "Year of France in Japan," the statue became so popular that locals requested a permanent installation. A new replica was permanently installed on December 22, 2000, with official permission from the city of Paris.
Strategically positioned in Odaiba Marine Park, the statue provides breathtaking views of the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo skyline, creating the famous optical illusion of the New York original in photos. Nighttime illumination adds a romantic ambiance, especially when the Rainbow Bridge lights up for special events.
