“Telecom Equipment Storage Office in Kuala Lumpur”
The museum was built in 1928. It was used as an office for a manual telephone exchange and was upgraded to a mechanical telephone exchange in 1938. In the early 1980s, Telekom Malaysia when Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad proposed that the building be preserved. As a national heritage Telekom MalaysiaIt was decided to turn the building into a museum at a cost of 10 million Malaysian Ringgit. Construction of the museum was completed in 1989-1992 and collection of museum materials and collections in 1993-1994. On June 3, 1994, the museum was officially opened to the public. Formal
