The most notable landmark here is the Prince of Chumphon Shrine, built atop a replica of the Royal Thai Navy ship HTMS Chonburi. This warship replica was constructed to honor Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, the “Father of the Royal Thai Navy,” whose original ship played a role in transporting his remains from Hat Sai Ri to Bangkok. The shrine is a sacred place where locals and visitors come to pay their respects and seek blessings.

Nearby stands Wat Khao Khao (Wat Thepnimitr), a serene temple perched on a hill overlooking the sea. Within its grounds is a striking statue of the Goddess of Mercy, Guan Yin, in a rare posture seated on a frog. At the top of the hill, a large Buddha image in the “Blessing” posture provides a panoramic viewpoint of Khao Khao Beach and the surrounding coastline, making it one of the best spots to take in the breathtaking scenery.

• By public transport: Take a train or bus to Lang Suan Station, then hire a local songthaew or motorcycle taxi to Pak Nam Lang Suan and continue to Khao Khao Beach.
