“Natural sandbar extending into the sea, abundant mangrove lagoon, coastal buffalo herds, and a peaceful atmosphere without any buildings.”

Laem Sui Point is one of the coastal sandbar systems in the upper Gulf of Thailand formed by the accumulation of sand and sediment carried by currents, wind, and monsoons over a long period. Gradually forming a sandbar extending clearly into the sea. This area is linked to the coastal system of Laem Pho (old sandbar) and Laem Sui (newly formed sandbar), which is still undergoing natural changes.

This sandbar acts as a natural barrier against waves and wind, helping to create shallow water areas inside or "lagoons" that are calm and an important ecosystem for the Phum Riang area.

Ecosystem and Biodiversity

The Laem Sui area has a mixed ecosystem including open beaches, mangrove forests, and wetlands, resulting in high fertility and being a habitat for native aquatic animals such as mud crabs, local fish, and shorebirds.

In addition, there is also community land use, such as releasing cattle and buffalo to graze naturally along the coast during low tide, reflecting the relationship between humans and nature that remains traditional.

Landscape and Tourist Activities

Tourists can walk on the sandbar that emerges above the water during low tide, which is the most beautiful time of the area. You can see a 180-degree panoramic view of the sea and the curve of the sandbar stretching into the sea.

Popular activities include:

  • Walking along the sandbar and natural coastline
  • Taking pictures of the sea and lagoon views
  • Watching local fishing boats entering and leaving the Phum Riang estuary
  • Exploring the surrounding wetlands and mangrove forests

Natural Phenomenon "Sea Insertion"

During the lowest tide, a phenomenon called "sea insertion" occurs, which is an image of sand interspersed with shallow, clear water pools, similar to a separated sea, creating beautiful natural patterns that change according to the water level each day. This is considered one of the highlights of this area.

Community Lifestyle and Surrounding Atmosphere

The area around Laem Sui is still a simple, traditional fishing community. Traditional fishing is practiced, and on some days there will be a fresh seafood market from the villagers, adding color to the area.

The access road is still a dirt and sand road that has not been fully developed, making the atmosphere still very natural, peaceful, and suitable for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle.
