“A historic railway hub in Bangkok that has served Thai train travelers for over 100 years.”
Bang Sue Junction Railway Station is a historic train station that has played a vital role in Thailand’s railway network since the reign of King Rama VI. Officially opened in 1915, it was designed to serve as a key connecting point for the Northern and Northeastern railway lines, and later expanded to include the Southern line. This made Bang Sue Junction one of the most strategic and busiest rail intersections in the country.
Although the main intercity services have moved to the new Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal (Bang Sue Grand Station), Bang Sue Junction continues to operate as an important stop for local trains and some long-distance services. The station remains a nostalgic landmark for railway enthusiasts and travelers who want to experience the atmosphere of Bangkok’s old rail system.
