“Beautiful beaches such as Cat Co 1, 2, and 3, snorkeling and scuba diving, hiking and rock climbing, wildlife watching including golden monkeys and various birds, boat tours around the surrounding islands, stunning limestone mountain and sea views, and spots to watch the sunrise and sunset.”

Cat Ba Island is the largest and most diverse island in the Cat Ba archipelago, located in the southern part of Halong Bay. Renowned for its natural beauty, the island attracts travelers from all over the world who seek both relaxation and adventure. Visitors can explore pristine sandy beaches, tranquil bays, and dense mangrove forests, as well as towering limestone mountains that rise dramatically from the sea. The combination of forest, sea, and mountain landscapes makes Cat Ba Island a unique destination in northern Vietnam.

The island is home to Cat Ba National Park, which spans over 15,000 hectares of protected tropical forest. The park is rich in biodiversity and shelters rare and endangered species such as the critically endangered golden-headed langur, hornbills, and various reptiles and amphibians. Numerous hiking trails allow visitors to trek through the lush forests, observe wildlife in their natural habitat, and enjoy panoramic views of the island from elevated viewpoints.

Tourists can relax on the famous Cat Co beaches 1, 2, and 3, which offer soft white sand and calm waters suitable for swimming and sunbathing. Snorkeling and kayaking are popular activities, providing the opportunity to discover colorful marine life and explore hidden coves. For a more immersive experience, boat tours to nearby smaller islands showcase breathtaking limestone karsts, clear turquoise waters, and secluded beaches.

Adventure seekers can take part in rock climbing, mountain biking around the island, or exploring sea caves that reveal the geological beauty of the limestone formations. These activities not only provide thrills but also unique perspectives on the island’s diverse landscapes, from rugged cliffs to quiet lagoons.
