“Walk on a transparent glass bridge suspended above deep valleys Panoramic views of Fansipan Peak and the sea of clouds Vertical glass elevator from the base to the viewing deck Adventure activities such as bungee jumping and ziplining Iconic photo spots at the summit”
Cau Kính Rong May, is one of the most thrilling adventure attractions in northern Vietnam. Located on the Hoàng Liên Sơn mountain range near the Ô Quy Hồ Pass, about 17 kilometers from Sapa town, the bridge opened to visitors in 2019 as part of a project promoting eco-adventure tourism in the Lai Châu province — an area known for its misty mountains and dramatic landscapes.
The glass bridge is made of multiple layers of reinforced safety glass, approximately 60 meters long and extending about 10 meters out from the cliff. Designed by Vietnamese and Chinese engineers under strict international safety standards, it allows visitors to walk across transparent floors that reveal the dizzying depths below — an exhilarating experience of “walking in the air.”
A key feature of Rong May is its vertical glass elevator, which rises over 300 meters from the mountain base to the upper viewing platform. The elevator ride itself is breathtaking, with panoramic views of the surrounding Hoàng Liên Sơn range and Mount Fansipan — known as the “Roof of Indochina.” Once at the top, visitors can explore the Skywalk — a transparent glass walkway built along the cliffs — or try adventure activities such as ziplining through the mountains for an unforgettable adrenaline rush.
The best times to visit are early morning and late afternoon, when thick clouds and mist drift around the mountains. As the sunlight reflects off the glass surface, it creates a surreal illusion of walking above the sky. Many travelers take photos at the edge of the bridge, where the endless sea of clouds below makes for breathtaking pictures that look almost otherworldly.
The site is equipped with full facilities including cafés, restaurants, resting areas, and viewing decks that harmonize with the surrounding mountain scenery. Whether you’re seeking heart-pounding thrills, breathtaking natural beauty, or simply a peaceful place to admire Vietnam’s northern highlands, Rong May Glass Bridge offers an unforgettable experience unlike any other.
