“A natural limestone cave over 4 kilometers long with over 5 large chambers, there are various tour routes, from easy walking to adventurous ones that require wading through the water beneath the cave.”

Gua Tempurung is a naturally formed limestone cave system over 400 million years old within Mount Tempurung, just 5 kilometers from Gopeng. The cave stretches along the mountainside and features a stunning and intricate limestone structure.

The cave is divided into several zones:

  • Golden Flowstone Chamber: The highlight of the cave is the shiny golden limestone formed by mineral crystallization.

  • Wind Tunnel: During cool, windy seasons, air pockets along the cave walls create a breathtaking view of the chambers below.

  • Top of the World: The highest point of the walkway, offering a spectacular view of the chambers below.

  • Battlefield Chamber: This area features stalactites and stalagmites resembling weapons and mythical creatures.

Tourists can choose from a variety of tours, including

  • Tour 1 (Golden Flowstone Walk)—Basic Route It takes approximately 40 minutes to walk through the colorful light and stalactite structures.

  • Tour 2–3 (Top of the World)—This takes approximately 1.5–2 hours, with a deeper walk and metal stairs and a viewpoint.

  • Tour 4 (Grand Adventure)—For the more adventurous, this takes approximately 3 hours, with some wading through water and some climbing.

The cave is equipped with electrical systems for safety, and staff are on hand to guide every route. Visitors will experience the natural splendor of the cave, the cool air inside, and the echoing sound of dripping water.

In addition, Gua Tempurong serves as a geological and ecological study site for students and scientists, as it contains fossil shells and traces of water erosion that reveal its natural history over 300 million years ago.

At the entrance, there is a souvenir shop, a restaurant, and ample parking. It is ideal for families or groups of friends.
