Bang Khwan Beach, also locally known as Na Kluea Beach, is one of Phang Nga’s hidden coastal treasures. Located in Khok Kloi Subdistrict of Takua Thung District, this beach retains its untouched natural beauty, offering a peaceful retreat for those who seek solitude and connection with nature.
The area is ecologically important, especially for its thriving seagrass meadows — the main food source for dugongs. Because of this, it’s often referred to as the “Seagrass Bank of Phang Nga.” Moreover, Bang Khwan Beach has gained national recognition as one of the few remaining nesting grounds for leatherback turtles, the world’s largest sea turtles and a protected species in Thailand. These natural wonders make the beach a must-visit site for conservation enthusiasts and eco-tourists.
The best time to visit is between November and March, when the weather is pleasant and turtle nesting season may be observed.
Avoid loud noises and littering to help preserve the beach’s tranquil atmosphere and ecosystem.
Ideal for travelers who enjoy eco-tourism, bird-watching, and nature photography.
