“Recognized as the world's largest free-flight butterfly park, where over 6,000 butterflies from 120 species fly freely beneath a massive net, offering an immersive experience with nature, complete with an educational Breeding Area showcasing the butterfly life cycle.”

Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park opened in 1992 and is recognized as one of the largest open-air, free-flight butterfly gardens in the world. Located within the Perdana Botanical Gardens, it covers over 80,000 square feet and is home to more than 6,000 butterflies from approximately 120 species. The park is designed with a colossal netting structure to perfectly simulate a natural tropical rainforest environment. The interior is lush with greenery, diverse host plants for butterflies, carp ponds, and small waterfalls that enhance humidity. Another key feature is the Butterfly Breeding Area, which offers visitors a chance to learn about the butterfly life cycle, from egg and larva to pupa and eventual emergence.

Walking through the butterfly park is like stepping into a world full of color and gentle motion. Numerous butterflies fly close to visitors, often landing on flowers and leaves within arm's reach, creating an exciting experience, especially for children who wish to learn about nature up close. This park is ideally suited for macro and nature photographers seeking close-up shots of various wing patterns, as well as families looking for educational activities, and couples who prefer a quiet and romantic atmosphere. Beyond entertainment, the Butterfly Park plays a role in raising awareness about insect and rainforest ecosystem conservation in Malaysia.
