Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park opened in 1992 and is recognized as one of the largest open-air, free-flight butterfly gardens in the world. Located within the Perdana Botanical Gardens, it covers over 80,000 square feet and is home to more than 6,000 butterflies from approximately 120 species. The park is designed with a colossal netting structure to perfectly simulate a natural tropical rainforest environment. The interior is lush with greenery, diverse host plants for butterflies, carp ponds, and small waterfalls that enhance humidity. Another key feature is the Butterfly Breeding Area, which offers visitors a chance to learn about the butterfly life cycle, from egg and larva to pupa and eventual emergence.

Best Time to Visit :

• Morning (09:00 AM - 11:00 AM) is the most active period for butterflies as the sunlight helps them warm up and begin their flight.

Attire :

• Should wear brightly colored clothing to potentially attract butterflies closer.

Conduct :

• Do not touch or catch the butterflies, as their wings are extremely fragile.
