“Experience the grandeur of nature at Kelingking Beach, famous for its T-Rex head-shaped cliff, and explore the breathtaking natural rock lagoon known as Angel's Billabong”

Nusa Penida is the most striking of the three sister islands off the coast of Bali. With its limestone formations and dramatic cliffs that cascade down into deep turquoise waters, the island attracts adventure seekers and travelers in search of untouched natural beauty. It is a true paradise for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of mainland Bali and experience serenity along with breathtaking landscapes.

Nusa Penida is home to unique natural highlights, such as a natural infinity-like pool opening out to the ocean, and Broken Beach, a cove carved by erosion into a massive rock arch that resembles a giant natural gateway—though boats cannot pass through it. The island is also renowned for its rich marine life, famously known as a gathering spot for manta rays and mola mola, which can be easily encountered at various dive sites.

A visit to Nusa Penida offers a wide range of experiences—from climbing down rugged trails to hidden beaches, to sitting peacefully atop the cliffs while watching sunrise and sunset. The overall atmosphere is calmer and simpler than Bali, allowing visitors to feel the authentic charm of island life. Getting around the island typically requires a motorbike or a car with a driver, as the roads can be rough, but the spectacular scenery makes every journey worthwhile.

How to Get There
  • Fast Boat: Departs from Sanur or Kusamba Port on Bali Island, taking approximately 30–45 minutes.

  • Ferry: Departs from Padang Bai Port (takes longer and is suitable for those who need to bring a car across).

  • Transportation on the island: Renting a motorcycle is a popular option, but good riding skills are recommended as the roads are challenging.

Travel Tips

Best time to visit:

  • The months of April to October are the dry season, with strong sunlight and calm seas, suitable for diving and exploring.

Travel precautions:

  • The roads on Nusa Penida Island are known for being rough, steep, and full of potholes, especially the routes to major tourist spots such as Kelingking Beach and Broken Beach. If you do not have confident experience in riding a motorcycle on off-road terrain, you should avoid it and switch to using a car rental with a driver, which is much safer and more convenient.

Money usage:

  • The currency used is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Local shops, restaurants, and small accommodations mostly still accept only cash. ATMs are limited and sometimes run out of money, so you should exchange enough cash for spending throughout the trip.

 Admission Fee:

  • Tourism Retribution Fee (Island Entry Fee): Adults IDR 25,000 / Children IDR 15,000 (Paid upon arrival at the harbor).

  • Specific Site Entrance Fee: Adults / Children IDR 5,000 - 10,000 (Approximate price)

Opening Hours:

  •  Natural Attractions: Open 24 hours daily.
  • Special Note: It is highly recommended to start exploring early in the morning to avoid the intense heat and the large crowds.
