SM Mall of Asia Opened in 2006 by SM Prime Holdings, SM Mall of Asia — commonly known as “MOA” — is a massive retail and entertainment complex located in Bay City, Pasay. It serves as a major shopping destination for both locals and tourists visiting Metro Manila.
The mall features over 1,000 stores, including international fashion brands, specialty boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and ice cream shops. Its seaside promenade offers visitors a chance to enjoy meals with beautiful views of Manila Bay.
One of its main attractions is the “MOA Eye,” a giant Ferris wheel that provides stunning panoramic views of the bay and the city skyline, especially during sunset. The outdoor concert grounds also host festivals and performances throughout the year.
Adjacent to the mall is “SM By the Bay,” a leisure area featuring amusement rides, seaside restaurants, and open-air spaces perfect for strolling and relaxation. The IMAX Theater, one of the largest in the world, is another highlight that draws moviegoers nationwide.

How to Get There
- Accessible via taxi or public transport from central Manila. Take the LRT and get off at EDSA Station, then ride a jeepney or taxi to SM Mall of Asia (around 10–15 minutes).
Travel Tips
- Visit in the afternoon or evening for shopping and sunset views by the bay. Avoid weekends if you prefer fewer crowds. Don’t miss riding the MOA Eye for a bird’s-eye view of the city.
