“Twin volcanic crater lakes formed naturally Rich rainforest ecosystem and birdwatching site Scenic viewpoints overlooking both lakes Activities include kayaking, trekking, and nature photography Calm and cool atmosphere perfect for a peaceful retreat”

The Twin Lakes, consisting of Balinsasayao Lake and Danao Lake, are located adjacent to each other within the Twin Lakes Natural Park in the municipality of Sibulan, Negros Oriental. This area is a well-maintained nature reserve, featuring mountainous terrain and a tropical rainforest rich with diverse flora and fauna.

The two lakes were formed from ancient volcanic craters that accumulated into natural water basins, creating deep and crystal-clear waters encircled by mountains and tall trees that provide cool shade. Tourists can rent kayaks or small boats to admire the serene scenery and connect intimately with nature.

From the viewpoint on the mountaintop, visitors can clearly see both lakes simultaneously—a truly magnificent and peaceful sight, especially in the early morning or late afternoon when a gentle mist drifts over the still water. It is an extremely photogenic spot, perfect for capturing panoramic views and enjoying moments of quiet relaxation.

The park also features hiking trails connecting the two lakes, allowing visitors to explore the rainforest and encounter rare local birds, as well as plants endemic to Negros Island. The cool climate throughout the year makes it a popular destination for nature lovers.

Additionally, the park area has a visitor center, small restaurants, and camping sites for those who wish to stay overnight. Spending a night at Twin Lakes under the stars offers an unmissable experience of the calm beauty of Negros Oriental.
