“This center brings together expertise in traditional Cambodian art and crafts, ranging from stone and wood carving to lacquering, gilding, and silk weaving.”

Artisans Angkor Handicraft Center is a project initiated to revive and develop traditional Khmer handicrafts, especially following the civil war. The project offers young people in rural areas the opportunity to train in various craft disciplines, such as stone carving, wood carving, lacquering, gilding, and silk weaving, playing a vital role in conserving cultural heritage and ensuring community sustainability.

A notable feature of the center is the offering of live demonstrations of various crafts, allowing tourists to observe the creative process up close from transforming a block of stone or wood into a beautiful statue, to the complex dyeing and weaving of silk. Every product is quality certified and showcases the meticulous craftsmanship of the Cambodian artisans.

Visits can be made all year round. During the dry season (November–April), the weather is cooler and more pleasant for detailed walking tours and learning about the processes. The atmosphere within the center is calm and educational, making it an ideal place to find meaningful souvenirs and directly support the development of local skills.

We invite everyone to come and experience the beauty of Khmer handicraft art and participate in carrying on local wisdom and strengthening the local artisans yourselves.
